Job Summary: Performs housekeeping services in Participant Homes.


Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Provides light housekeeping and laundry services for Participants in their homes following the participant’s plan of care.
  2. Provides assistance with laundry services for Participants in their homes.
  3. Maintains a clean, neat environment to enhance participant safety.
  4. Ensures that supplies and equipment necessary for patient care are stored in an organized, efficient and safe manner.
  5. Is an advocate for participants enrolled in the Northland PACE Program.
  6. Follows safety procedures and precautions when performing housekeeping services.  This includes using safety devices such as eyewear and gloves, and protective clothing/devices when performing tasks that involve the handling of infectious waste and/or blood/body fluids.
  7. Report all unsafe/hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc., to DON or ADON promptly.
  8. Immediately reports all incidents/accidents, no matter how minor, to supervisor.  (NOTE: Such occurrences must be reported on the shift in which they occur.)
  9. Assures homes have appropriate cleaning supplies to perform duties assigned
  10. Maintain the confidentiality of resident information.
  11. Honor the participants’ personal and property rights.
  12. Provides assistance with Day Center Cleaning as needed.
  13. Establishes and maintains positive interpersonal relationships with all team members, participants and any other constituents as characterized by open communication, trust and respect.
  14. Attends all scheduled mandatory staff meetings.
  15. Other duties as assigned.

Employment Specifications:


Minimum High School Diploma




Minimum one year’s experience with the frail or elderly population.

Licensure, registry or certification required:

Valid North Dakota License with a class D endorsement




Special Training:



Must be able to work effectively with an interdisciplinary team.  Must be able to communicate effectively.  Must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills.  Ability to adapt to change in a positive/professional manner. Must meet standardized competencies established for position.  Must be medically cleared for communicable diseases.  Must have all immunizations up to date before engaging in direct participant contact.


Physical Demands:

Must be able to see, hear, and verbally communicate.  Must be able to move about freely and possess manual dexterity and visual acuity. Moderate amount of walking.  Must be able to move about freely. Position requires sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving intermittently during working hours.



Working Conditions:

Primarily inside, well-lit, climate controlled environment; however, will require travel in various weather elements (rain, snow, cold, warm temperatures etc). Frequent travel for home visits. Must have reliable transportation.  Potential exposure to infectious diseases and environmental hazards.  This position will require occasional exposure to outside and inside environmental conditions such as heat, cold and dampness.
